The Forehand and Backhand For Left Handed Female Players

Lots of videos out there for right handers, but what about the lefty’s?

Especially the female players its good to watch a top female player – for example Petra Kvitova.

Below is a slo mo of her forehand

Note:The take back is not that big – use of non racket hand – contact out in front – neutral footwork position on the ball near centre of the court – catches the racket- variation follow through on the wider ball.
Below the double handed backhand

Note: Non commital backswing – racket head drops on the backswing – right arm straightens to take the racket out away from her – good finish and the contact point out in front.

And this one is great as it shows her at practice and so you see the whole range of her strokes.

Note: Footwork on the volley – use of non racket hand on backhand volley – slow hands and fast feet!
